Why We Built This Site
Iowa offers several public access routes, yet each answers a different question. The Clarke County Sheriff holds local booking and jail material. The Clerk of District Court maintains filed charges and dispositions. The Iowa Department of Public Safety, Division of Criminal Investigation keeps the fingerprint-supported state repository. Corrections and registry records sit in separate systems. We organize the official contacts, request steps, fees, and search portals so readers can choose the custodian that actually holds the needed record.
What You Will Find Here
- Agency contacts: where to reach Clarke County law enforcement, the clerk, and Iowa record systems
- Record guides: how criminal court case records are found and read in Clarke County
- Official check instructions: how Iowa DCI name checks and authorized fingerprint checks differ
- Record relief: how Iowa expungement works and where a qualifying request is filed
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to an Iowa court, sheriff, police department, or state agency. Those limits matter:
- We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
- We cannot file expungement petitions, records requests, or other paperwork for a visitor
- We cannot run an official check or retrieve a government record for anyone
- We cannot promise that an agency's phone number, fee, address, or process has not changed
Only the issuing agency, such as the sheriff, court, or Iowa DCI, can provide an official record copy. The document must come from its custodian.
Search Partners
Third-party providers power search boxes shown on some pages. They operate their own services and set their own prices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral fee that supports free access to this site. We do not set partner fees, control their results, or turn those results into official Iowa records.
